Stockholm - dream city on islands

Hi, I have opened another new gallery in my web page www.urbancentre.net. This time it's devoted to my favourite city where I have been and the city where I lived in some of my previous lifes - STOCKHOLM (I felt so familiar, childhood-like feelings in one place there and I can't explain that otherwise than I have lived there before). Please, go to the page and enjoy this incredibly charming city in rainy, windy and cold (August 2008) atmosphere!

Previews:

This is the place where I felt those mysterious feelings coming from seemingly nonexistent memories - especially connected with that wall of stones on which upper buildings are built.

cool photos! I like how this city does not have a lot of skyscrapers, yet has a very urban feel to it! Do you have more photos? You should post them.
One of the world's most beautiful cities. What a gem.
Perfect! Does this city have any defects? I don't think so!!
Thanks!
Great!!

The only one in the centre that I can really think of is Slussen.

Beautiful and very nice Stockholm; thanks for those photos :eek:kay:
definitely not my kind of place but it looks great.

The only one in the centre that I can really think of is Slussen.
What about the area around the Central Station. Sergels Torg and surroundings are not very appealing to me.

Furthermore, I think that most of the suburbs in Stockholm are dull as hell.

But the biggest parts of the centre are indeed really beautifull and more importantly well taken care off!

I have arrived in Stockholm by bus from southern side and I can say that so beautiful suburbs I haven't seen anywhere else. Road going up and down on hills, nice (not so commieblockish as elsewhere) appartment houses which are built on rocks, many waste of waters, watersides and bridges, all buildings and all infrastructure in PERFECT condition, all so developed, clean and safe! Stockholm really is beautiful not only in the centre. Of course, there can be also uglier parts, I haven't seen all city.
Area around Sergels Torg is urban downtown part. At first, I also not very liked it but it's not bad actually and gives to Stockholm different trait, thus making it more varied.
As regards to Slussen area, I love it, those modern office buildings on waterfront looks massive and cosy at the same time:

I live in a suburb in Stockholm and I can guarantee you that most of the suburbs here excist out of commieblocks.

There´s also a lack of bars, restaurants,... in the suburbs. Everything is concentrated in the centre.

Great pictures of a great city
^^

well I think each Suburb has it's own 'Centrum' like Haninge has Haninge Centrum that concentrates shops or any service you need, the commuter or pendeltag is near too.
