Here is the subway map of my city:

The only one which doesn´t have the correct translation is "Baixa", it means "Downtown".

Enjoy

Female Amateur East is by far my personal favourite.
Nice that you can take the subway to Rome

GO MEAT:dunno:

Who made up those names?
That's hysterical, thanks for showing us. Does it sound that strange to the Portuguese, too?
Oelanddk: the city of Lisbon, as you know, is very ancient. The strange names are from popular origin, many stories that were the origin of it are known, others not. For example "Olaia trees" is a zone where many decades ago possibly existed lots of olaia trees, as well as "olive tree fields" or "plum tree".
But I don´t know whats the story behind " to put fire " lol. But I think this shows up very well the complex history and diversity of an european city, new world cities are "understandable" because names were given when people were already very similar to us...

bosman: We hear of it so many times that it doesn´t sound strange anymore. But for example, when the line was expanded to " stolen sir", because it is an outskirt area I never heard of it and I laugh a lot when first saw it!

Greetings!
Strange Names. Interesting map.
But i think the most subway station names in Berlin sounds strange too translated in english.
Stolen Gentleman (translated as Stolen Sir) is odd.
