Along with Shinjuku and Shibuya, Ikebukuro is one of the 3 largest
entertainment/shopping districts of Tokyo, attracting mostly people from
Northern Tokyo and Saitama. It is the second busiest train station in Japan
handling more than 1 million passengers per day. Three subway and several
suburban train lines intersect at the station. There are several department

Similarly to Shinjuku/Kabukicho, the streets tend to be dirtier than elsewhere
in Tokyo and the numerous Pachinko parlours & adult entertainment
establishments might be a turn off for some. One attraction worth noting is
the 240m-high 60-story-tall Sunshine City tower which offers a nice view of the

Wow!!! Ikebukuro is really impressive, there are a lot of cool and hip shops. It is very clean and modern. It is very famous and developed. I really like this area, will surely visit this place someday in the future.
