Doha, June 16 (QNA) - A new A(H1N1) case was confirmed in Doha today, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to three, Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Health H.E. Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani said. The case was of a 17-years old Iraqi resident who arrived in Doha last Saturday coming from Washington on board of the Qatari Airlines, flight no. 052 at 5:45 pm. He was diagnosed with H1N1 after symptoms of the flu appeared two days after his arrival in Doha. H.E. the Minister said the patient and his family were given antidotes, adding that the family was given safety instructions and house isolation measures and that the patient is recovering. Earlier today, H.E. the Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Health announced that the first two influenza A(H1N1) cases had been diagnosed in Qatar. (QNA) MM/LY
DOHA: Two Indians, one of them a four-month-old infant, are among four new cases of swine flu that were detected here yesterday taking the total number of confirmed cases to 14, Qatar News Agency reported quoting the Minister of Public Health and Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Health, H E Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani.
The first case is an American child aged 10 who arrived here from the US on June 17, while the second one is an eight-year-old Jordanian child. He came here from Canada on June 13.
Two other cases are Doha-based Indian children, one of whom is four-month-old, while the other one is two-and-a-half-year-old. All the infected persons have been given anti-virus medication and they are in good health.
