New mixed use tower proposed for corner of Bathurst Street and Castlereagh Street in the Sydney CBD.

some more detail of the DA..

In summary, this Stage 2 DA seeks approval for:

 Demolition of existing structures on the site, excluding Porter House, the existing
Heritage listed building at 203 Castlereagh Street;

 Construction of a 36 storey mixed use tower with a 9 storey podium comprising:

 Ground floor commercial, vehicle entrance, residential lobby, hotel lobby and
reception;

Hotel from Levels 1 to 8 including the use of Porter house as a hotel. 124 hotel rooms; and

Residential Units from Levels 9 to 34. 187 residential apartments

 A four (4) level basement car park with a further four (4) levels of mechanical stack
parking below; and

 Vehicular access to the proposed basement from Bathurst Street.

The previous DA dated 21 February 2014 at point 22 shows a height above street level of 114.5m with RL height of 141.05m. Thus base RL = 26.55m.
The current DA has RL height of 147.727m. Deducting the known RL of 26.55m gives a building height above street level of 121.2m or 398'.

It's obvious why they cantilever it over that old historic building but it gives me a creepy feeling. I'd prefer just a slender tower (but they wouldn't make as much money).

"Btw the ANZ branch on Castelreagh and Bathurst streets has moved. Does this mean the development for that corner has been approved?"

this has 3 basements but also a car stacker which goes to depth RL2m. street level=Rl26m, thats 24m deep. thats deep
