- located in south western Moravia, in so called The Highlands
- a town 55 km (35 miles) W from Brno, 40 km (25 miles) SE from Jihlava, 55 km (35 miles) N from Austrian border
- mentioned in 1101, town since 1277
- pop 38 500
- pitoresque location in a valley of the Jihlava river and Stařečka stream
- St.Prokop basilica and jewish town are written down on UNESCO world heritage list
- Charles square; one of the largest squares in Central Europe; 2.2 ha

Just that typical Czech-kind of city, that made me fell in love with this country! Very nice!
Thanks for complimet on czech towns :). May I ask you, is second housing in Czech rep. still popular in the Netherlands? As far as I know, there are some Dutch housing projects in the Highlands region closed to Jihlava. Are there other ones? I am not really involved... but interested a lot :D.
