very nice pics. do you have any photos of Olumpia before it was reconstructed?
Thanks for the pics. All these new buildings really reflect what the city of Tallinn is all about; modern urbanism combined with beautiful nature. Tallinn really is a city of the future. Super tubli linn!

Just as a side note, I happen to now some Estonian people, and they are among the nicest, most polite and confident folk I know. You guys really deserve this boom.
nice to hear that Moolio! :) , but i must warn you, there are bitchy estonians too... :(
yeah moolio I'm one of the bitchy demented weird estonians:tongue3:
I'm sure there a bitchy people in Estonia as everywhere else, just fewer of them. At least you Estonian forumers are some of my favorite ones. It's always nice to talk to you guys. It's pretty amazing really how we Finns and Estonians get along so well (gotta be the same mentality), even though we Finns are always causing trouble in your beatiful nation's capital. Sometimes I'm honestly so embarrassed of how my countrymen behave in Tallinn, that I'm just hoping the earth to swallow me. :drunk: :booze: :jippo: :cheers1:
Thank you for the walk and show, ch1le! :eek:kay:

Glad to see & hear there is so much building activity in Tallinn! New buildings, rehabilitation, fassade improvements ... Cool!
hey wh can you tell me when exactly are you coming to tallinn i got to really plan the scedual cause i got to work
Uhhh, karackhal, that's awfully tought to say right now. I haven't even booked my flight to Europe yet, and I have to get all my nerve together to decide how long I can stay (i.e. leave my husband on his own). I know 6 weeks is too long. :( But let's put it this way: I always like to hit the white asparagus season. I don't like to come in May because it's still so cold, so this pretty much nails my presence in Europe down to between June and early July.

You'll be working? Good guy! :eek:kay: What will you be doing? As long as you're in Tallinn, we can still see each other in the evening, right? :)
Wow, lot of activity there...The city is growing both in size and hight...Great to see...
Nice walk you had. It`s good that new buildings are flowing in downtown and commieblocks should be renovated indeed.

Too bad that there aren´t much such certain dense western-looking streets.
every day at school when i'm bored (that's quite often), i stare at this building and its elevator go upppp and doooown... it's so interesting :D
Thanks for the tour Ch1le
I specially like the pic of Olümpia,it doesn't look like Soviet at all

:laugh:karackhal,your avatar;)
Didnt know there was so much activity there. Whats the temperature there? I feel bad for you, only 24 here :D

I heard Estonians show more emotion than Finns, is that true?
ahh finns, estonians - no difference! :D we're all cool!

Everybody show more emotion than Finns. :D In this respect, we Finns definitely have a lot to learn from our neighbours over the Finnish gulf. Estonians seem so much happier people, we're always just complaining about everything.
In addition to Rotermanni pictures (really looking forward to seeing them realized), I really appreciated the views from the area near Hansapank! In fact, the last time I've been to that part of Tallinn was in 2000, but I remember admiring Hansapank's nice building. (*nudge* *wink* pics, please! :)).
