This will be tallest building in Israel

Just to be clear, the approved plan includes the tallest building in all of Israel.

"The Tel Aviv Local Planning and Building Commission today approved the "Keren Hakirya" plan for the construction of an office, commercial, and residential complex at the corner of Shaul Hamelekh Street and Namir Road. The plan will include an 80-floor skyscraper - Israel's tallest building to date. The "Keren Hakirya" plan, initiated by the Israel Land Administration, includes 540 apartments and 100,000 square meters of office space. The plan applies to the 38-dunam (nine-acre) lot at the northeast corner of the Kirya, the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv. The land is owned by the Israel Land Administration and has been used until now by the Ministry of Defense.
Under the approved plan, 240,000 square meters of office and building space will be built, including 540 apartments and 100,000 square meters of office space. The plan calls for the construction of 80-floor and 50-floor office buildings, and two 45-floor residential high rises, atop a commercial floor. ..."

If this tower turns to be office tower like they say in the plans then observation deck is definitely feasible.
Problem is more often then not these projects turn out to be residential.

In that case it won't happen until 2017-2020 since Yediot Ahronot tower is not planned to be completed until then.
If you don't count this one, we only have Gazit tower to start.
All the other lots are already in digging stages.

I don't think there will be any progress with these towers until the towers to the North of Azrieli are all u/c.
I think it's even more complicated than that! The whole nortern part of the Kirya needs to have a major planing part before this tower could get built.

thats only the approval of the raw general plan for the area (taba). not the building permit for each of the towers in that area,we have lots of years to wait and changed plans.

That's why I said it's prop and not appd. The lot doesn't have an owner yet. For all we know this tower could easily get cancled for a lower project.
