its becoming the best place to be if youre a restaurant or club, thats for sure :)
^^yes,the center of nightlife...
three years ago they still had to beg restaurants to open there..
What's the story of Tel Aviv port ? Was it converted to an entartainment district with restaurants and clubs ? Or does it still function as an harbor for freight-ships ?

(I am assuming that all the photos, aside from Source's are from Tel Aviv port and not from Jaffa or from Tel Aviv marina).
the port was built during the arabic boycott against jewish goods in the 30's, they decided that as part of the boycott, goods of jews from palestine will not be able to be exported from jaffa port, so the jewish administration decided to build a new port - Tel-aviv port. after the building had been completed the economic state of the jewish population in palestine improved. the port isn't active since the 40's or 50's because israel has built ports in haifa and ashdod, so in the last years it's become an entartainment district.
^^nice pics!

Interesting. It seems like they made the area look better, but it doesn't look like they added any buildings (such as apts. or shopping centers) aside from the small structures that the restaurants are in. I guess the location isn't the best next to that power plants and those oil storage facilities.

I am quite interested in waterfront projets. I am thinking of doing my thesis on this topic. Are there any other good examples of waterfront redevelopemtn (especially of former port facilities) in Israel ? Maybe in Haifa ?
