Last Saturday was the third annual Teneriffe Festival so I decided to go along and to take my camera with me. The Teneriffe Festival is essentially a celebration of the area's past, present and future.

For anyone not familiar with the Brisbane locality, and since 2010 suburb, of Teneriffe, it is to the north of the CBD and is situated on the bank of the Brisbane River. In the early 20th century, it became a commercial area which was particularly important to the state's wool trade, with a large collection of Woolstores built from 1909 up until the late 1950s. In recent decades, the suburb became more residential, with the majority of the old wool stores, of which almost all have survived, having since been converted into residential apartments. It is a truly unique suburb, unlike any others in Brisbane.

This is my set from the festival. Keep in mind that the festival only covers a small area of Teneriffe, so there's a lot more to the suburb than what's seen here.

Wow, I never would have known. Great showcase. It's areas like this, the lesser-known yet infinitely interesting that I and I'm sure others are interested in discovering. These handsome buildings remind me of Hobart's Salamanca Place, Port Adelaide, Pyrmont or what you'd find in the districts of many old industrial cities of Britain, such as the Little Germany district of Bradford in England. Please show us more if you can.

agreed, my favourite suburb too. I have been considering moving my business there and looking for office space in the area.
