Thane City's Internal Metro will get all clearance till June 2019 and work will be start before Mumbai Metro 4 work........

* Cost of the project Rs.10843 crores funded by TMC, Center, State and German Bank

* At 3 spots, it runs parallel to Metro 4, in Dongripada, it runs lower to Metro 4 line......

IMO they are comparing Metro 4 thane section where construction yet to begin, they installed barricades........

Makes sense then. When is construction going to begin? They said 2021 2 weeks ago but now saying it will begin in 2019 itself???

Wow that's crazy. So with that, there is nearly 350km of metro lines planned in the MMR region, which will all open by 2025 if fadnavis remains. Currently 150km is under construction

Some Good news...

Thane LRT Expected to cost RS -/- 7,000 Crores,
Revised Report Ready.(Prepared By MahaMetro).

Expected to cost RS -/- 2,700 Crores less than metro.

The Revised Report again needs to get approved from TMC , Maharashtra state cabinet and finally from Central government.

Hopefully , this time it gets approved without any delay .

Is the LRT fully grade separated? If it is, how is it any different than a metro? Only the coaches will be shorter, but the stations will likely be smaller. Makes no sense to cheap out when Thane has a population of more than a million and is booming
