are we going to change the banknotes every time we get a new king?
what a waste of money!
^^ I could be mistaken but under Fahd weren't there other kings on some of the notes? Or did his face dominate all the notes? Either way, I'm surprised to see Abdullah's face on all notes except the 500.

I agree, this is ridiculous...why do they need to have their faces on the notes when they become king? why a complete change everytime?
Fahad was on all the notes except 500, 200 and 20 who had Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud.... But now 200 and 20 notes r being removed from the market
yap it's waste of money & time, anyway all gulf currency will be one in 2010!!!
^^ can't wait to see all the countries get into a fight over whose leaders are going to be what notes....maybe they'll all disagree and decide to stick to their own currencies..
maybe thy thinking of it why not:D
I'm not sure about the unified gulf currency. It seems more like a dream to me. But in general change is good.
If i'm not mistaken, I don't think the Saudi currency has undergone any extensive security upgrades in quite a long time. In addition, money is constantly being printed, to my understanding the only additionally incurred costs are those associated with the design, and I don't think thats going to dent SAMA's wallet.

I'n my opinion, the new currency looks better than what is currently in circulation. I like it!
