The Cube, Birmingham City Centre.

The UK's most interesting new high rise development, emerging out or Birmingham's canal network ^^

Sandy have you got any more pictures of the interior? I find that much more interesting than the 3D wallpaper they're putting up on the exterior that you lot seem so much to care about!

Wait & see young man, wait & see ... the 'whole' building with it's glass crown will be a sight to behold both inside & out :) I'm afraid there aren't many images of the interior as it is being built, the site is extremely secure & construction workers and security men aren't that good at keeping us up to date with progress of a visual kind .... these computer images will have to suffice for now ....

Oh yes I've seen those I was just wondering if any of you Brummies had managed a pic or two of the interior! Get longer legs - it's going to look great inside

Gherkin, someone posted a good 10 photos of the interior in the birmingham cube thread.

Think they got it from emporis maybe. You will just have dig through the thread to find them.

Yep fair enough. I think the top section of this building is make or break!!
I agree .... it will either give the building a light, crystal crown to top it off.... or it will look like an awful, clumsy tubular framed greenhouse plonked on the top. Let's hope it works!

I wish I'd reserved judgement on this one now. I gave it a five initially.

I would almost certainly give it a two now.

Yup. I gave it a three. At least the massing of the building is okay. This is just a big lump which destroys the otherwise fantastic skyline of Birmingham, which I've said I love on many occasion. It's just a shame this has been allowed to happen. :eek:hno:

Err it hasn't even topped out yet. The crown is to be the best bit! Why dont you reserve your judgement till its FINISHED! Im not a HUGE fan myself but a 2? **** me. I would give the Sentinels more then that. Just wait till you see it in the flesh.

^^Very sneaky one there, van! ;)

I respect Sub's opinion. I've gone very cold of the view from the back. I'm glad that they've at least made the windows bigger on the back so it'll be more illuminated at night.

Sorry (i feel like i need to apologise) because its such a big project for Birmingham. But i just can't see how this building works aesthetically (maybe it does from the inside). I can see the cladding looking seriously wrong in about 16 months..
