And the other side:
What a Big Brown Slab of building. I hope they do a good job of refurbishing this.
We love it because it is a proper city centre tall office block - something which Brum has aplenty and something which is lacking in other cities......
Hear hear!

Oooo errr, no I love its brown slabbiness, it looks like a proper 60's building, from another era, and it's covered in mosaics on it's narrow sides, you don't get attention to detail like that these days.

I like the browniness too. I would complain if they re-galzed it, but in the same style. It would benefit from a tidy-up.
Can't stand the colour, tall buildings simply should not be brown. Would like to see it reclad in Zinc cladding like covers the new Peat house.
Classic building, looks great on the skyline. Keep the Brown!
ahh love maclaren. i cant think how to change it, id just give it a clean to put it 5 years back :)

Lookin' good.
I don't know how they will refurbish this building because the plans haven't been announced yet.
They've announced they'll refurbish seven floors... bit half-hearted! :shifty:

Good news nonetheless where you hear this?
It is on the Birmingham Developments booklet published by Locate Birmingham.
Comprising 115,000 sq.ft office space within the city’s Masshouse area, The McLaren Building is currently 50% occupied, with customers including Birmingham City Council, Scott Wilson and American Express. Now, privately owned Bruntwood plan to invest £7m redeveloping the building around these customers, creating 20 floors of high specification offices, with space to let from 1,500 sq.ft to 45,000 sq.ft.

I hate this building, cant wait to see it go!
Well, you're going to have a long wait then. :)
I like it :)
is 7 million alot of money for a refurb? will they do anything to the exterior? it seems quite a small amount really.
