Hi, I have opened another new gallery in my web page www.urbancentre.net. This time it's devoted to my favourite city where I have been and the city where I lived in some of my previous lifes (Seriously!) - STOCKHOLM. Some of the photos I have already shown here but there are another new pics and will be some more with time. Please, go to the page and enjoy Stockholm in rainy, windy and cold August days of 2008!

p.s.
This is the place where I felt those mysterious feelings coming from seemingly nonexistent memories - especially connected with that wall of stones on which upper buildings are built.

Very beautiful photos of Stockholm; indeed one of the most beautiful cities in N&B region :)
Stockholm really might be the most beautiful city in region - although I haven't seen all of them yet.
Beautiful! I must visit it some day since Ive only seen parts of it though...
Stockholm surely is the most beautiful city in the NB.:)
The best? hmm that's an entirely different matter..
Although I disagree with the title of this thread, these are some really beautiful photos. :eek:kay:

P.S. Vacais, without absolutely any offense or bad attitude I would really recommend you to stop advertising your website (I know I may sound not very nice, but that is getting to a point where I would call it something not too remote from "annoying") and instead dump all the photos here on SSC ;). It would be much more exciting, interesting and better to everyone.

^^ Which city is the most beautiful one then?

Personally I have not been to Stockholm yet but from photos it looks amazing.

P. S. "Birka cruises"

You're not "everyone". For example, there are people with slow speed connections who found annoying to load large set of pictures - but in my website it loads on thumbnail view and then one can click on each picture separately. In general, website is much better way to store, collect, organize and publish photos than a forum with countless threads. I created my page for that and it will stay that way.
However, I accept that it could be a bit annoying when you open a new thread and there is always redirecting to another web-site. So, I will probably make just one thread here "My page news" or smth like that and there I will post all these new updates with previews of my web-site. And, if people are interested, then it shouldn't be any problem to make 2 clicks and get to the page and view photos there in a more comfortable manner.

I've been in all major N&B cities - Stockholm, Goteborg, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Helsinki, Vilnius, Klaipeda, Tallinn, Parnu, Tartu, Kaunas, Riga and Oslo.
------------
Oslo is the best.
------------
Riga is cool as well, but it does not count - too intimate relations.
What's up with all the Latvians creating one website after another? Is it some sort of conspiracy and in the end they plan to take over the World? :runaway:

Not that there's anything wrong in you thinking why Oslo was best, but why though :p Usually people say Oslo is ugly, though i love the city too myself. What made you like it then?:p

The best has necessarily nothing to do with beauty.. Stockholm is for example miles ahead of Copenhagen when it comes to beauty. But if I had to choose between which of these two cities I would live in, I would without a doubt choose Copenhagen, which I personally think is a better city, for me...

One thing that amazed me was the night view from the bay - all illuminated - like arena. Why? As urban sprawl moves away from the coast, it gets climbs up the hills an mountains - a unique feature in N&B.

It is not that I LOVE Oslo - it just stands out in N&B more than any other city. Tallinn stands out as well, but it does not have the feel of largeness:( Copenhagen and Stockholm I found very similar - nevertheless Stockholm is more attractive, lively and what is most important for me - I got lost in the city :D. Helsinki was slightly boring - may be it would have something more to offer if I would have stayed there for more than two days.

That is shortly it.

I agree. I am talking from the perspective of a tourist and about first impressions. That is why I do not say anything about Riga - I was born there.

What I like about Oslo is the terrain and variation. St. Hanshaugen has many nice and cool streets and I enjoyed walking around there last time I was in Oslo. What I miss is the more great city feeling and capital feeling and more pedestrian streets. And of cource, I think there should be more urban and dense inner city areas.

Stockholm is the most beautiful one and Copenhagen seems to be the best planned city in our region.

^^ In what way do you think Copenhagen is the best planned?
I dont know, just seems so well organised and tidy...
