I tried to find a thread for this but couldn't find one (forgive me if it's been mentioned in another thread)

This is for the propose 'Northern Forest' which is suppose to take in river courses, unused areas and even city centres in a swathe of land from Liverpool all the way to Hull.

Here's a link to it although I'm everyone has read about it by now.

The question in my mind is how this will impact the Liverpool city region (but excludes Wirral for some reason), and how the northern forest will change the look of Liverpool city centre and inner city areas beneficially (if at all?).

The main concern being that there is limited space in Liverpool city centre for a vast influx of vegetation (but then how far does 50,000,000 trees go in a huge area like suggested?)

I'm no means an expert on this and I'm all for a greener city with more trees and wildlife, but where would it go?

My fear is (personally) it might be a few trees in Sefton Park but nothing really changing in the city centre.

Liverpool isn't going to become a jungle. Wirral is included but its the parts of the peninsula in Cheshire. A forest suggests dense woodland but I don't anticipate it means much for the city centre. More likely on the edges of the motorways infested with Japanese Knotweed.
