Stirling:- The origin of the name Stirling is uncertain, but folk etymology suggests that it originates in either a Scots or Gaelic term meaning the place of battle, struggle or strife.
Chichester was originally the Roman city of Noviomagus Reginorum. The town walls, though heavily modified, are roman in original, and the foundations of bath houses and mosaics have been discovered as recently as the 1970s.
