Last panes of glass now fitted
I noticed that the last remaining panes of glass have been fitted at the top of The Scalpel since last week.
The view from St Helen's Square was looking really good this week.

Here it was from a few weeks back, from the 40th storey of The Cheesegrater, showing those last two panes prior to fitting.

I believe that now 100% completes the external elements to the building.

This really varies in quality depending on the angle it's viewed at. It looks great in those last two pictures, truly like a scalpel, but not so great from the other direction, where the flat surface is visible and the sharpness effect is undermined.

Walked past there on Thursday.

It has a couple of good angles - the ones designed to be photographed and seen in marketing material.
The flat back, the glass clad core the totally unresolved geometry of the roof, the ugly silver triangle it stamps onto the skyline... all rubbish.
