Proposed for the Clarion Hotel site at Sherbourne & Selby (a block south of Bloor). The newer 3-storey building will be demolished, and the original victorian structure will be moved forward.
We are so spoilt in Toonto. Someone posts a new 49 story proposal, pretty decent design, and no comments. This city is crazy the amount of developments in the pipeline. In fact I think it's very cool.
Yeah, I like it too and it will be a superb addition to that run down neighbourhood. I would have gone ape had they not announced they were saving the old Selby Hotel.
Nice fresh design, and I'm glad they are keeping the old Victorian mansion beside this development. The old with the new gives the city class, history and substance. Not to mention the contrasting beauty of the two disparate structures.
That old Selby Hotel has a lot of history; Ernest Hemingway lived there when he was a reporter for the Toronto Star. It also had a big gay bar for a decade or more!
