NAME: The Straight
USE: Residential
FLOORS: 4 floors
The Straight has one of the most sought-after addresses in the northern suburbs: situated in the heart of Lonehill, just a stones throw from the Pineslopes Shopping Centre, and within easy walking distance from Montecasino, Fourways Crossing and Fourways Mall (see the Google Earth Satellite Images below for a birds-eye view).
The development consists of 86 apartments with private gardens and spacious loft options available with some of the units. The Straight also sports a fully furnished clubhouse & swimming pool, landscaped gardens, ample visitors parking bays (26), and a gatehouse with both residents and visitors entrances. Security for the complex consists of a perimeter wall with electric fencing and a 24-hour on-site security guard.
The finishes options have been selected by i-Scope Interior Architects (www.iscope.co.za) for a modern and professional feel. Each two-bedroom apartment has 1 covered and 1 open parking bay, while the one-bedroom apartments have a single covered parking bay. Some of the optional extras available include technistone granite counters, security doors and burglar bars, additional electrical points and covering the open parking bay.
The location of The Straight is ideal: The Straight (the road!) junctions with Witkoppen Road less than 500 meters away, and continues over Witkoppen behind Montecasino where it joins up with William Nicol. This is one of the very few remaining plots of land available for development in the area, and offers buyers a prime address in the very middle of the popular Fourways area.
Prices start at R 700,000 for a 1-bed, 1.5-bathroom loft apartment and R 800,000 for a two-bed, two-bathroom apartment. Prices include the attorney fees for both the bond and transfer attorneys. A R 15,000 deposit is required to secure an apartment.
You must of course remember that developers need to make money. And for a cheapy development this aint too bad. Hey, its not tuscan. Don't know why it is posted though. There are hundreds of these going up everywhere in Jozi. So it aint special! But it is better than tuscan, bali, provence or any other pseudo-european hoohah.
Yup Yup.. and really, this type of stuff goes up in every city. It's a South African phonomenon! It's just a heck load more pronounced in Joburg because of the huge growth of this province.
