When I saw the first one I thought it was the winner....thank good it wasn't:D

The winning design is interesting, but not the one I would have chosen.
a bit dissappointing... not too tall, seems very bulky, i dont like :(
It's yet unclear which one will get built, negotiations will be continued with all 3 candidates and in the end the only one will be chosen. Let's pray it's not the 3rd one :|
And my favorite design is by Palekas :eek:kay:
of the three i would also go with Palekas
I think Palekas's design was the best of ALL competing designs (22 in total). It's about as high as the the winning design by Ambrasas (about 16 floors) but alot more massive what I kinda like. In reality it should look spectacular. :)
First on looks very small and third one is weird. I like the second one altough it might be thinner.
@ John even more massive then winning design? yuck... Ncc for me isnt about massive its about tall and slim, big boxes just isnt my cup of tea...

No, there should be all kinds of buildings. Tall buildings make the skyline look nice while massive and lower buildings form better urban feeling and density. Canary Wharf is the best example, if you've been there you know what I mean. ;)

John true true true! But were talking about a Bank building here, it does give urban texture but nothing as what Viru centre (a massive building) gave Tallinn. I havent been to canary wharf (shacks, mby when i was 6) so im not quite sure. Massive should go with a shopping centre or a apartment... then again, how much do i know :p Lets wait and see how it turns out..

you see once the offices close it will be a dead shell ...
edit2: For urbanity, hmm the 3rd winner would be the greatest contributer... imo

Usable but not too inspiring.
NCC doesn't need more tall buildings to look better, it would be completely fine the way it is now as far as high-rises go. What it needs is mid-rises (ie. ordinary ~ 4-16 story urban buildings one can find from city center).

The way I see NCC:

tall buildings are the bones and the skeleton
"ordinary" buildings are the flesh around them

Thus, massiveness = good.

Palekas' design is something that would look good just about anywhere.

That's an excellent point of view, I completely agree here. That's one of the reasons why I liked Palekas's design. And it's not too low as well (I counted 16 floors). The only thing which might be out of place is masiveness, it might be a little too massive for NCC, it looks more like something what could fit in Canary Wharf or Pudong surrounded with highrises of 50-60 storeys high. On the other hand it could be a good precedent for more massive buildings what without a doubt would be a great thing. Overall I like it and I wish Palekas's project would be built.

a little too massive, my point exactly, other then that, i wish they build it. Ncc needs some urban fabric around it ;)
Blah :(.. So many much more interesting designs, a bit of a disappointment..
1st and 2nd are not bad - I hope one of these will be built. The third one - interesting but it's too low and long - groundlicker. ;) Anyway I won't cry if any of those will be built - it'll still be a nice and rather exceptional addition to NCC. (I mean they are all quite unique and not simple)

Ya I thought it was a part of a vaccume cleaner or something...
I'm starting to like the winner, althaugh "pregnant crocodile" (a.k.a #7) is still my favourite :)
