Thessaloniki Municipal Plans

I don't know about Calatrava plans at this moment but there are many municipal plans in Thessaloniki like the reconstruction of White tower square completing soon:
or the reconstruction of the seaside and Aristotelous square.

What do you mean?

There are many art deco buildings in Thessaloniki but I have only two of them, both built in 1930's:

Δε Γνωρίζω αν η Μπρατισλάβα είναι του μεγέθους της Θεσσαλονίκης, μικρότερη ή μεγαλύτερη. Απλά ας μου εξηγήσει κάποιος πως γίνεται χώρες μικρότερες ή/ και φτωχότερες να μας ρίχνουν στ' αυτιά απο κτιριακά έργα και εγώ σαν αντιπρόσωπος της Αθήνας και της Ελλάδας στο emporis.com να μην έχω τίποτα μα τίποτα νέο να παρουσιάσω.

Πάντως, πολλοί φίλοι και γνωστοί μου έχουν πεί πως τα έργα υποδομής στην Αθήνα είναι σε πλήρη αναντιστοιχία με το built environment. Ανεβαίνεις στην επιφάνεια απο το Μετρό ή έρχεσαι από το υπερσύγχρονο αεροδρόμιο και τρώς το σόκ της αρκούδας...

Why? Calatrava's all works are not good. What he did in Bilbao, the airport is completely a bullshit. He is a master at arches and briges. But when you force him to do out of his classical shapes, he sucks...

I like Olympic Stadium's roof and Agora, but the Bibao airport sucks so much

look, it looks like built in 70's although it is new. It's a Calatrava Work



Also Turning Torso is not his idea. It is from famous suculptor Constantin Brancusi and Calatrava knows him very well because of his suculture backround. Beside this, Turning Torso is a master work as engineering, not as shape (the turning idea is from another suculptor Alexsander Kalder)...

Είμαι που να πάρει η ευχή αντιπρόσωπος στο emporis για την πόλη και δεν έχω προσθέσει ούτε μια φωτό γιατι δεν την έχω ως τώρα επισκευθεί. Θα ήθελα φυσικά νε επισκευθώ την πόλη δια ζώσης, ντροπή μου...
