There is an amazing doco on SBS2 about tidal bore's if anyone is interested.

Its probably too late for east coast viewers but for Adelaide and Perth its on at 8:30.

Its really interesting - I had no idea these things existed.

Broadie if you love surfing you'll love this! Waves up rivers around the world - totally cool.

There is one in the amazon or something. Supposed to be a 20 minute ride on the one wave or soemthing.

They did surfing down the Amazon and one in France which was quite amazing. They showed one in the Quantang River in China which occurs every year during spring tides and attracts over a million people to watch.

Quite amazing. I know we have them in Australia, up north in the Gulf and NorthWest WA but I don't think there so big you can surf on them.

yeah the one in the amazon is pretty crazy with all the paranas and crocks, and its not just one wave theres so much water moving behind it its all most like a tsunami walking up the river,
