tilt shift miniature faking

saw this photography in the NY Times ( http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/14/magazine/14paris-t.html?ref=design ) and wanted to give it a try- images from barcelona. anyone familiar with this?

Hmmmmm.... interesting and surreal technique!

Tilt effect is really very nice; do you know if from cellphones (C902 sony ericsson) can use the same effect?

I think you need to use film and a wonky lens to be all proper about it, but I followed this: http://tutorialblog.org/photoshop-tutorial-tilt-shift-miniature-faking/
