Tirunelveli (Tamil: திருநெல்வேலி), also known as Nellai (Tamil: நெல்லை), and historically (during British rule) as Tinnevelly, is a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the headquarters of the Tirunelveli District. And is the sixth-largest city in Tamil Nadu, after Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, and Salem.
