https://www.dezeen.com/2018/02/19/sumitomo-forestry-w350-worlds-tallest-wooden-skyscraper-conceptual-architecture-tokyo-japan/

Wooden supertall proposal by Sumitomo Forestry that came out February and was covered by mainstream media. Doesn't seem to have a thread yet so I thought I'd start one, especially since I noticed a billboard for it in Otemachi Station today so it seems to be a fairly serious proposal rather than one of those fantasy visions. Proposed date (completion or start of construction? doesn't say) seems to be 2041 to coincide with Sumitomo Forestry's 350th anniversary, so not holding my breath. They don't seem to have a site picked out for it yet either.

Information from Sumitomo Forestry's homepage:
https://sfc.jp/information/news/2018/2018-02-08.html

Hi, the billboard you saw in Otemachi is not for that. It might be for this 390m project by Mitsubishi (and not in wood): http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1848267

The project you are talking about is a vision, not meant to be really built (rather, it's to say that this could be built), that's why it doesn't have a thread.

We'll see in 23 years if turns out to be a real project. I would be very surprised if Skyscrapercity in this current form will be around then. So I like to keep this section mainly for projects that are actually happening now or in the next couple of years.
