Tony Blair just resigned, effective June 27.

How will this effect us, especially the pointless billions we spend having men run around the desert.

Has just resigned?
He announced this months ago - just not the date!
He was a lame duck.

I'm surprised that the opposition leader is so popular while Blair's successor is extremely disliked.

So what I just posted is news????? Is it not.

Pity one of Britain's greatest PMs is going to be written down in history as Boosh's Bichon Frise. But that was the path he chose.
I know of another PM who is more Bush's lapdog than Tony......
Why is our Labor spelt the american way?
Why is our Labor spelt the american way?
Because Australia secretly wants to be the U.S.A.:runaway:
^^ Ugh no we dont

Wikipedia said:
While it is standard practice in Australian English to spell the word labour with a u, the Party has spelled it without since Labor cabinet minister King O'Malley thought he would "modernise" the name in 1912[1], as per American English, as it seemed likely at the time that Australia would move to American spellings.

Tony Blair and Labour in the UK is an example to everyone here, that had the ALP been in power in Australia in the last few years, we would have been involved in Iraq anyway, and all the bleating they are doing in opposition is just for show.

Actually, let it be a reminder to everyone here that having a strong economy does go hand in hand with a Labour party with the UK having a healthy and strong economy. Also let it be an example to everyone here that trying to reduce CO2 emissions, signing the Kyoto protocol, or legalising civil unions (as was done under Blair's Govt) won't push a country into a hellish nightmare of a recession with unemployment of a billion %. :) Despite Tony Blair's problems, I think Australia would be a far better off country with a Blair than a Howard.

Maybe we can ask Tony to come here and be our PM for abit. Of course that means sending the little prick JH over there. He can have tea with the Queen everyday and talk about cricket, and how badly he plays it.

Please no.
There is a reason why the British have suddenly become very negative towards Blair.
