Rank / City / No_Of Buildings / Tallest

Top 5

1 London - 1898 buildings - (305m)

3 Glasgow - 296 buildings - (134m)

4 Birmingham - 266 buildings - (187m)

5 Leeds - 172 buildings - (120m)

Bottom 5

6 Liverpool - 75 buildings - (125m)

7 Sheffield - 74 buildings - (130m)

8 Bristol - 54 buildings - (80m)

9 Dublin - 51 buildings - (120m)

Glasgow is above Birmingham by No_Of Buildings. Surprising. What do you think?

Can't say its particularly suprising; the top 6 are what I expect. I don't know why its suprising Glasgow is above Birmingham.

That list is a mix of tallest proposed and tallest built- Leeds' tallest proposed is 170m but it has 120m listed (BWP? 110 building 120-30 spire) however Manchester has 188m listed for the unbuilt Eastgate. ie those tallest buildigns mean nothing really.

This is what it looks like on ground level ;) Birmingham is far, far ahead of anyone else.

I have updated the results. Now it doesn’t include demolished/canceled buildings because some Cities have many demolished or cancelled buildings. for example Liverpool has 43 Demolished buildings LISTED as buildings of Liverpool.

Minus- demolished/canceled buildings will show a more accurate result.

London - 21 demolished and 11 canceled.
Manchester - 9 demolished and 6 canceled.
Glasgow - 7 demolished and 2 canceled.
Birmingham - 26 demolished and 4 canceled.
Leeds - 3 demolished and 0 canceled.
Liverpool - 43 demolished and 7 canceled.
Sheffield - 28 demolished and 3 canceled.
Dublin - 5 demolished and 16 canceled.
Bristol - 3 demolished and 3 canceled.
Nottingham - 5 demolished and 0 canceled.

^^Bloody hell - what's Mcr & Glasgow playing at? Both blighted by council tower blocks (like Brum, Liverpool, Sheffield) but not getting rid?

No, unlike Birmingham most of our highrise isn't made up of council tower blocks. Look at the panoramas of Manchester - most of the high rise is newer and in the city centre or around the Universities.

Even the metal clad car park seen in the middle of this pic is a highrise, at 38m.

Just thought you'd like to know :dunno:
