This proposal turns out to be a pleasant surprise at year end. The first rendering looks good. This makes me wonder which company is the potential lead tenant. Design wise reminds me of bank of America in New York City. It is great to see a tall office proposal. Hope it materialises.
Definitely hope it will be built! Toronto coming closer to the 400m mark!

This proposal shows that Toronto is getting there. However, at the moment, it is not a legit supertall. By technicality due to a spire it may qualify as one. I'm sure this project will have revisions, and will be tweaked a few times. This is by no means the finished product. Assuming if the developers have a big lead tenant, and certain square footage is leased out, I can see it being a legit super tall as the project evolves.

Take away the "spire" on all of the supertalls from around the world featured here on SSC and you would be left with only about half of them being true supertalls.

A bit of a table top effect developing. Make it 340m-380m not including the spire.
Awesome, finally a new tallest building in the downtown cluster! That title hasn't been broken since the 70s!

I like that they're not building a podium to the south of CIBC so that nothing can be built right up against it and block their light.

Judgeing by the way the roof slopes up towards the west there must be some shadow considerations (St. James Park possibly? :dunno:). They most likely can't make it any taller with current policy.
It's got girth.
Beautiful tower. Would look great in Toronto's skyline.
Beautiful! Glad to see a new supertall proposal for Toronto. The four edges and the facade of the building remind me of the Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen.
It does look like a mini Ping An. I wonder if this precludes the re-development of the building next to it on Yonge Street. Judging by the slim condo tower to the north of it there does look like enough space for something substantial.

Yeah, except of the roof part, which looks like the Bank of America Tower in NYC.
Bank of America and Ping An had a baby. :)

Toronto gets some curves-if only slightly! Whoop whoop
That is indeed a fat Ping An!
It is actually only supposed to be 298m tall not 350m. In the Urban Toronto post below it states the height is to be the same as FCP which is 298m. I wish it was above the 300m mark though!
