Yeh theres a reason for that, there will be much more street level activity once Verde and 420 on flinders are completed both significant office high rises

Great pics... But where are the people?? I don't think I saw anyone in those? Not a soul! Quieter than Canberra!

If they were taken this afternoon, it would explain alot. The city is dead on Saturday afternoons. Meanwhile, just around the corner down at the Strand there would be people everywhere.

This. (although the pictures featured weren't of the main drag of the CBD rather the outa fringe)

The strand quite literally dominates, not enough car parks and heads for as far as the eye could see. Beautiful atmosphere...

The city however has nothing... therefore no reason for the people to visit, that's why the CBD really needs a department store or some form of retail to entice people to go there - hence my comment on the new offices stimulating street activation.

Cant say i've ever been to Townsville, but by the looks of the pics its a nice, prosperous and touristy sort of city and its still done well considering all the cyclones that have ripped throught it.
