Why are not many private industries, universities or other private investments are not coming to trivandrum compared to kochi and kozhikode .
I assume Oracle, Cap Gemini, HCL, ITC, Aegis, Leighton, MPSEZ et al are all public sector firms, as opposed to what?

To add a few more firms of the "non private variety"

Infosys, TCS, UST Global, and around more than 100 others of various sizes within technopark .

Even if we are talking about jewelleries and textile shops , we might have been lagging 3-4 years ago; but not anymore .

Your question has came on the same day in which a 7billion USD giant decided to invest in Trivandrum. UST, TCS and Infosys alone are investing around Rs 4000 crores in TVM. If you were considering just malls and textile shops as only private investment then ok, but that also coming to TVM in a big way. What I mentioned above are pure industrial investments that are going to bring around 70,000 direct jobs.

The difference between textile/ gold shops and IT companies.

Textile/gold shops need to give advertisements in a big way for people to get attracted to.

IT companies would rarely need to give any advertisements for people to get attracted to.... bcoz people come or have to come in search of it.

And talking about universities/educational institutions, IISER, IIST, the number of eng. colleges, med colleges........ etc. etc. (you may kindly visit the education thread for more info.)

Hope he would 'work' for Trivandrum :).
GOOD that he noted the need for an access road of int'l standards from karyavattom side.... along with this, may be he can think of getting the NH byepass well litted with technopark companies' collaboration.
