Trouble in LA

I don't know why, but after seeing some of the results of the march/rally this past week and the police violence in McArthur park, it really feels like the Latino community in LA is about to explode.

I just think that if some type of controversial event in LA happens that involves the Latino community and LAPD, that might just be the spark that touches off mass riots. Is it just me or do you guys feel this type of tension too?

I don't see that at all. All I see is the younger (my) generation rebelling more and more and becoming stupider and stupider.

I honestly think the ones trying to start the shit were NOT Latino immigrants, but far-leftist whites and far-leftist American-born Chicanos who wanted instigate some shit because they believe in class warfare. They believe the police is the enemy, and will do their damndest to make the enemy look like a real enemy. They were actually glad the police got brutal, because if the police did nothing, that would just disprove their point.

The majority of actual immigrants are humble, low-key, otherwise law-abiding people, they normally don't do marches, and it took a lot of effort by those listed above to get them to come out. The turnout of the 2007 march was far smaller than in 2006. Mexican and Central American immigrants come from countries where the police is super-corrupt and will kill people without due process of the law...If you're from a country that's used to that shit, you will never instigate a conflict with the police!

Like the Christian Right, Islamic Fundamentalists and Israeli Zionists...it's only a tiny, but very vocal group of people who like to start all the shit in this world and make everyone else look bad.

And that's the absolute truth.

sorry... im too far away from downtown to get that vibe. and i sheltered off in my office all day so i dont get to talk to "normal" people

I agree!
I saw some kids with the ANARCHIST T shirts throwing water bottles at the LAPD, instigating..i belive those "KIDS" started all this shit!
Do u think those ( Anarchist, Che Guevara wearing) kids who ditched class on Tuesday actually give a rats ass about todays Troubles in America!
If your not part of the solution, your part of the problem!!!
They just wanted to ditch and hang out at a local Micky DEES after Roaming the streets.

Don't even get me started with people that wear Che Guevara shirts. Damn ignorant bastards. That guy killed so many people in Cuba, the asshole is why my family there is starving, dying, and getting diabetes at 14. "Viva la Revolucion" :eek:hno:

The problem is that unlike generations past, most youth of today really don't really believe in anything, so they really have no idea what they're rebelling against...I mean take for instance emo kids...wtf is that all about?

You really cannot blame it on Che Dude. Cuba was pretty fucked up already anyways. Just like the rest of America Latina. So there's revolutionaries for the people and the government.... Move on!

Getting back to the topic here. I feel that all this poking around and blaming Immigrants for everything wrong with US Society can only go so far. I do believe instead of scaring them away and keeping your foot over them. Your creating a more political power house to make and break policies against immigrants. In reality they are waking "A Sleepy Giant" with top notch political power that would be unstoppable...

Cuba was bad, but at least it was a hell of a lot better than it is now. Under Bautista, only the farmers had it bad. Now, everyone has it bad. Che's revolution was responsible for the murder of many Cubans, so because of that he gets his face on shirts? That is why I get so angry about it. Who has a shirt with Pinochet on it? No one.

Elsongs has it right. At least when students protested in the past, they had a cause. Today, students are lazy, spoiled, and just want to get out of school with a fake agenda.

immigrants are always blamed for the problems of a community. no one is going to say "im the reason my community is fucked up." no, they just say... well 15 years ago we did not have these problems and now we do, what changed? oh there are some new people around that dont look like me. let me blame them.

this is nothing new to la, or the US.

Che and pinochet are completely different scenarios though. Che was a revolutionary for the people, it's unfortunate what happened in the Island. So you can't assume that both cases were similar.

And he helped the people by killing them? :eek:hno: He was more like Stalin and Hitler in his approach to rule. It's obvious that the people who support and defend him know nothing about him.

You can't defend wearing his likeness on a shirt.

Were are you getting your facts from phatt?
This is from stories from my family and from recorded historical facts. Look up an unbiased biography on Che and you might be suprised by how tyrannical he was.

Here's something from therealcuba.com.

So why so much anger towards Che instead Castro?

That may be true indeed, BUT the news media all over this country labeled all the trouble makers as immigrants trying to attack police officers. And joe six pack doesn't go out and SEARCH for the truth by reading books/attending lectures, he just sees it as those criminal illegals messing up my country.

The media is ATROCIOUS and actually instigates this stuff!:bash:

There is anger toward Che, but pretty much everyone hates Castro, so I don't really need to persuade people to show his real side like I do with Che.

Unfortunately LAPD fucked up with their police tactics. They lost their cool and now are in deep shit. Immigration rallies are a hot sensitive debate and when you have the good ol' LAPD ran sacking TV reporters, mothers and their children. That does not look good for the the agency... :eek:hno: Another negative point for the force....

People are not going to let go of this one no time soon. The Chief and his associates have to put their faces and admit they fucked up. It's going to be a hot debate burning up the airwaves!!!

:bash:
