Condo Potential Pushes Bids for Parcel Sky-High
By Roger Vincent, Times Staff Writer
May 6, 2006

"It doesn't take an apprentice to tell you that Donald Trump has expensive tastes.

The publicity-unshy developer is in a bidding war for a choice parcel of real estate on the edge of Beverly Hills that could lead to one of the highest prices paid for land in the Los Angeles area".

The question is: Where exactly is this lot? and is he also bidding on the VA property in Westwood?

If these people are so concerned about traffic everytime a new development is announced, why aren't they on the board of the MTA?

They always use that excuse----traffic, then density. As if the area was once traffic-free and unpopulated, maybe a 100 years ago! Most Angelenos still have that suburban mind set thinking that West LA or all of LA for that matter should be relegated to the 50's vision of Suburban Utopia. Well, the reality is, we're not in that era anymore and we're not Pasadena!

The MTA should propose resuscitating the trolley line on the median of Santa Monica Blvd., connecting Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West LA and Santa Monica like it once did! I thought they would once they started the $75 million re-developoment of Santa Monica Blvd.

Once upon a time (early 90's?), apparently he wanted to the buy the (now gone) Ambassador Hotel, for peanuts, on Wilshire, raze it and build a hi-rise condo/office/hotel that would have been the tallest in the West...of course he bought and re-developed the Palos Verdes golf course years ago.

the site that is in question is the old fox building in century city. not the new fox plaza on ave of the stars, but the demo'd building that was next to the herbalife tower on SMB.

And Pasadena has become really smart growth.
