Trump proposes new World Trade Centre

Although it doesn't belong here, (I think the poster realizes they posted it in the wrong area) it is quite amazing, and I have no idea on Earth how silly Trump thinks he can pull it off.

As it is, he is outspoken, and he has made so many rude comments about the people killed on 9/11, just for the sake of promoting his new idea... so stupid.

Not really, he just called the Daniel Libeskind, an "egghead". Which is pretty weak for an insult, especially when Libeskind is capable to designing his own tower whereas Trump just copied the original twin towers. :bash:
And NYC dosn't need to rebuild the twins, they need something special like Foster's design.

Yeah, I didn't understand his bashing of Libeskind. I mean, yes, I dislike the Freedom Tower design, and I would love to see the old twin towers rebuilt. But bashing an accomplished and world renowned architect simply goes to show how much of an ego Trump has. I mean, what building has Trump built that has ever gotten any architectural acclaim? I don't remember any.

I really have a love/hate opinion of Trump.

BTW Trumps design (when looked at in detail) looks terrible as well, the windows are set into the facade of the main buildings and they're tiny. The horizontal empohasis is also terrible. The small buildings lining the site also look bad. Just a mess.

It's amazing how shlocky reality tv can make so many people believe someone with such monumental bad taste, has an opinion worth wiping my ass with.

Actually, Trump said way more than just that; He stated that the Freedom Tower is an insult to the people who died etc. etc. and that if the Freedom Tower goes up "...the Terrorists win." ...I think he should be careful. It doesn't sound so powerful, does it, until you are a victim's relative sitting there and listening to it.

Even though i'm not a big fan of the "Freedom Tower" I'm even less fond of rebuilding the exact same thing as before. For one, how viable would it be? Your talking about filling over 4million sq/ft of office space. Not easy in an area that's already having problems attracting tenants.

7 World Trade Centre is nearly complete and does not have one lead tenant. Rebuilding the WTC would simply result in two huge white elephants sitting empty. What's the point of that?

I mean, I would be in support of it if the towers actually looked like the old ones in Trump's proposal- they have NO vertical emphasis and vertical slats like the old ones, and the base buildings are awful.

Either go completely different from the old ones, or completely the same. (architecture-wise.) ..or its just redundant... Why does NY need to big ugly boxes without any vertical emphasis that made the old ones so beautiful?
