Freedom Tower is what it is and what is known for.....look for another building.
I agree! Leave it as it is...was there for the first time this year for that creepy torture exhibit and let me tell ya it's the perfect place for a museum...
I recall years ago there was an attempt to lease out FT for office space that proved unsuccessful because the interior spaces were deemed too cramped and there was even concern the floors would not support heavy equipment. It just might not be practical from a logistical or financial perspective if the building would need a virtual gutting to make it work.

Not sure the city would even desire such a move with Dinner Key being such an attractive location. If I worked for the city, I think I'd rather stay there.

(not that FT isn't a local treasure)

The Miami-Dade Courthouse was originally built as a Miami City Hall and would still make a grand City Hall today.

Plus the top 9 floors were once a prison and thats where many say most of our current leaders belong anyway...

^ dave! You are hilarious! but yes it would make a grand City Hall!
Was the Freedom Tower lit up in pink lights, recently? Seems like it looked pink while I was tuned into ESPN recently (don't remember if it was Dolphins or Hurricanes).

In any case, I have advocated just painting the FT pink in several other posts. It would only work in...Miami!!

The Freedom Tower would be a great spot for a museum especialy being across from the proposed Musuem Park. The South Florida History Museum could esaily move there since it's not following the MAM into Museum Park. The building itself is history it'll be a perfect fit. What you guys think?
I think the Freedom Tower is a great exhibit hall - I have really enjoyed many of the art exhibits within it the last couple years. MDC just needs to put a little more glamour into the interior exhibit spaces - they are so bland... I think MDC, as it continues to grow in downtown, will eventually figure how to maximize its use.

They should renovate the rest of the building. The tower is nice, but the surrounding structure is awful.
