OK - this is the last time I start a thread about Tweed Heads in the NSW forum. I have started two previous threads about Tweed here but nobody seems interested.

The latest development to grace Tweed's future skyline is Tweed Ultima (part of the more than $5 billion worth of development taking place in Tweed Shire - sadly ignored by most NSW people)

So here are some pics (though small) and info on Tweeds new residential towers - Tweed Ultima.

Sorry about the size but this is all I could find on the internet - though the Courier Mail had a rather nice rendering. The towers will go right in the new city heart - corner of Wharf and Bay streets.

Cost - $44 million
The 227 room tourist/residential development in the Town Centre will include car parking, retail space, restaurant and bar, gymnasium and conference facilities.
Project owner and developer - Majeed Tabrizi

If you think this belongs in the Gold Coast/Queensland section please change it over. Thanks and enjoy.

Ooh! found some bigger pics.

From ray white:
"TWEED ULTIMA...... Imagine shopping centres, entertainment venues, beaches and restaurants virtually at your door step. You dont even need a car! 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, 3 bedroom penthouses and a select few townhouses.
Suiting both owner occupier and investors, this is a unique opportunity to be one of the first to purchase residential properties in "The New Tweed".

Tweed Ultima presents quality contemporary style living in one of the most sought after coastal locations in Australia.

A combination of CBD and beachside living with luxury finishes."

Yeah - I don't understand I mean outside of the Sydney Metro area Tweed is probably the most happening place in NSW. The entire city centre is being completely re-made. All those sleazy adult XXXX emporiums are dissapearing and new shops are moving in.

There is talk about Tweed getting its own tram system and linking it with Coolangatta and Gold Coast Airport.

Now that's an interesting idea... Trams for the Tweed. lol (hey, that has a cool ring to it!). I doubt it'll happen though, because the site you linked to speaks of "incorporation of Light Rail Route from the Gold Coast". We all know that the Gold Coast's fool of a mayor has said that he doesn't like the idea, so that's the end of that. And even if they did build light rail, they couldn't connect it to the airport due to the small part of it that's in GCCC (the mayor would likely veto it).

I figured they'd give in and build up Tweed eventually. Good to see some thought's going into it at least.
hey Jt, what is status of this one? uc, approved?

Any news on these Tweed Projects?
The Twin Towns Harbour Tower is at Full Height and being finished right now.
The First devolpment you posted is a hole in the ground, but atleast its underway.

I don't see any sign of the Bay street thing going up yet :(
Something i forgot, Doesn anybody know of anything in South Tweed?
I like South Tweed so much more than north, but there is only 1 tower and i would like to see the south be spruced up aswell.
I know this part of NSW has a 3 storey heigh limit and i think thats why they build the towers up the north end cause its practically QLD :)

I don't get to Tweed very often. Last time I drove 'past' there seemed to be lots of cranes.

Hey if NSW don't want the Tweed, we should take it off them, it'd save all those nasty daylight saving whingers :jk:

Instead of the Tram line, would it not be better to continue the Heavy Rail past the proposed Coolangatta terminus??

Would add an extra 90,000 people to SEQ/GC's population:D
two dark blue cranes up across the road from the state school right in the middle of town, on nsw side of the street, and another up oppsite the beach on the Q side.
Why is this thread in the Regional Queensland section? Shouldn't it be in the Gold Coast section, considering it is part of Gold Coast metro? Or if not, it should be in NSW section, but Regional Queensland?? ???

Well technically its in NSW but nobody in NSW really cares about Tweed (including the state government).
Also Tweed CBD and Coolangatta CBD (which is also booming) make up ONE big skyline.

I visited Coolangatta/Tweed a few months ago and was totally blown away by all the new development.

Being from NSW, I care about every place within it, but I see it as part of the Gold Coast, and I prefer it go the Gold Coast section. Give it another go in the NSW forum as well JayT.

As for the rail line, send it all the way to Murwillmbah and hence provide a second rail link between Sydney and Brisbane.
