Masaka, Central Uganda.

Well, this is the town I've been spending quite alot of time in. I guess it should be Uganda's 4th largest town. Its roughly 150km from Kampala.

A little off-topic, but I just noticed something from that map.

Why is it that the White Nile is thought to originate from Lake Victoria instead of Lake Edward? The White Nile looks more continuous to me if we follow the Lake Edward to Lake Albert river. The Victoria Nile comes at joins Lake Albert at a really odd angle for it to look like the Albert Nile continues from the Victoria Nile. I don't know if I'm making sense.
Maybe it's volume of water in the Victoria Nile that makes the difference?

i think Gulu is bigger than Masaka
thanks for the photos though
You are right. I said Masaka was the 4th largest. Here's my order of towns by size.

1.) Jinja (if you add Njeru)
2.) Gulu
3.) Mbarara
4.) Masaka (if you add Nyendo)
5.) Mbale

Maybe someone can improve on my list but thats just my opinion.

The source of the Nile is still debatable. Some even suggest it starts somewhere in Rwanda but for now we know that most of the Nile's water comes from L. Victoria so we assume thats the source.
