Ukraine launches its own subway trains

As Kyiv city authorities stated, Ukrainian engineered and made subway trains will begin exploitation this year. They have been undergoing testing for the past 2 years.

Now that we have a rapidly expanding domestic market for subway trains, I'm sure the product will be successful and with time will possibly be exported abroad. Fourth national ukrainian subway system will be launched in 2010 in Donetsk (excluding underground transport systems that do not use subway trains, such as underground-trams).

By the way, the same factory Krukovskie Zavod produces this guy

and they're also making modarnized passanger train cars

Bogdan, I don't know, I'll try to find out. I know the regular passenger train car costs around 4 million hryvnia, which is 800,000 USD

Realek, yes it is. They produce a whole range of stuff, from military vehicles, to trains, to tractors, escalators, subways

LOL! Are you gonna make train locomotives and wagons too? That would be a big success, especially if they license some technology and build them cheap? Certainly, at least BG and RO should become your customers! Siemens Desiro trains are not bad but even they are expensive. And also they are diesel ones...

BTW is there someone from Belarus? I know they have a truck factory that produces that megalomaniac BELAZ trucks! These (old models

) are still used in our charcoal mines! These trucks are just SUPERB! and those pesky Iveco trucks are nothing compared to them! The Belorusian BELAZ trucks are superb giantic diesel trucks that were used by the USSR to transport ore from their Ural mines!!!

I've seen some images...of 400-tonne giant ones! I know their factory is still alive and still producing them! I'm really in love with those monsters! Can someone tell me what's going on with those BELAZ guys?!?

We are already producing our own Diesel locomotives DEL-02

We have thread about Belarus in our Urban Ukraine section, but no Belarusians (I'm partially Belarusian by ethnicity, but Ukrainian by nationality). I think Belaz is still producing those monsters, they're enormous, yeah

I think is not all train unit too...price is low compared with macleren f1 car with cost around 600 000 dolars..
