Do you mean to post photos? Or other info/articles?

Anyway, cool idea. I will try and get some of my indonesian landscape photos up soon. Probably my favourite photography subject.

There may be a only few countries in the world that are just as beautiful as Indonesia - but none is more beautiful. Treasure it.

Krakatau, Sunda Strait, Indonesia

Administratively Krakatau belongs to Lampung Province.
Krakatau located in Sunda Strait, between Java and Sumatera Island, had been wellknown and recorded in the history since the 16th century.

At that times Sunda strait became a heavy business traffic line from Europe (Holland, England, etc) to East India (Indonesia).

In this modern century Sunda Strait plays more important role as business traffic line as well as the field of geological and maritim research.

Komodo Island !! Beautiful Island !!

Komodo Island

Komodo National Park is located in the center of the Indonesian archipelago, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. Established in 1980, initially the main purpose of the Park was to conserve the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) and its habitat. However, over the years, the goals for the Park have expanded to protecting its entire biodiversity, both terrestrial and marine. In 1986, the Park was declared a World Heritage Site and a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, both indications of the Park's biological importance.

GHNP (Gunung Halimun National Park) is the largest mountainous rain forest remained in West Java, the area does not only posses enchanting natural characteristics and unique social cultures, but the more interesting and valuable is that this area contains a high bio-diversity of plants and animals, regulating hydrological system, microclimate, and major water source, places for research and environmental education, places for recreation and nature tourism/ecotourism activities.

Danau Toba

Lake Toba! (Sumatra Island)

Lying right in the middle of the province, jewel-like Danau Toba is Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake, and (at 525m) possibly the world's deepest too. It was formed about eighty thousand years ago by a colossal volcanic eruption: the caldera which was created eventually buckled under the pressure and collapsed in on itself, the high-sided basin that remained filling with water to form the lake. A second, smaller volcanic eruption, 50,000 years after the first, created an island the size of Singapore in the middle of the lake

BUNAKEN

Diving in the Bunaken National Marine Park

The Bunaken National Marine Park lies in the Bay of Manado in the north of Sulawesi. It encompasses five islands (Bunaken, Siladen, Manado Tua, Montehage, Nain) where you do mostly steep wall diving. I have dived around the islands in Manado Bay numerous times, first in 1994 and I always love to come back here. Here you have a good chance to see pelagics like sharks, mackerels and tunas as well as marine turtles. The walls are very nicely covered with corals and have small caves and overhangs.

The Bunaken National Marine Park lies about 30 minutes by boat from Manado. Bunaken island is the centerpiece of the national park but there is good diving also at Manado Tua (the volcanic island), Siladen, Montehage and Nain. There are accommodations on Bunaken and Siladen as well as several dive operators. You can snorkel at many places around the island or just enjoy the nice beach.

The dive sites at the mainland around Manado are also well worth a visit, lots of unusual critters to be found, and from Bunaken it is easy to go to the Bangka islands in the north for a day trip. I also recommend a visit to Lembeh Strait to the east or a liveaboard trip to the Siau islands.

Gunung Bintan
BINTAN ISLAND

Discover Bintan’s rainforest and see the fantastic views from the 340 metre high summit of Gunung Bintan. During this 5 hours trek through Bintan's rainforest, you can see giant trees over 40-metre tall, home to rare animals such as silver leaf monkeys, sun birds, eagles and kites to name a few. During the trek you can learn about the practical uses of many plants and discover the local legend of “the princess pool”. Finally you can cool down with a shower under the waterfall, where the locals say it’s lucky.
