The new Molecular Sciences Building at the University of Birmingham will be a focal point for strengthening our core research capabilities in the chemical, environmental and bio-molecular sciences.
A designated hub for the School of Chemistry will be created and office/lab accommodation will be provided for existing School academic staff and researchers.
The building will be developed in two phases:
Phase I (scheduled 2019-2020)
Phase II (scheduled 2023-2024)
The Molecular Sciences Building will enable students to experience a wider range and style of research and it demonstrates our continued commitment to invest in high-quality facilities to enhance the student learning experience.
Nope in addition to it! The University is seriously investing in its facilities I expect it to really push the city forward with all this investment!Wow! It's massive! is this party of the battery park redevelopment?
We are committed to providing the best academic buildings for the benefit of staff and students. This facility, due to complete in 2022, will strengthen our core research capabilities in the chemical, environmental and bio-molecular sciences, fostering an environment in which world class research can be carried out. It will be a showcase for research and innovation and a place to connect that research to education, promoting collaborative work.
This is the first phase of a multi-phased master plan that will provide further academic accommodation in the coming years and will facilitate greater collaborative working between University academics and Schools, as well as with industry and partner institutions
