LLC "Daewoo Textile Fergana" received the members of the Board of Directors of Daewoo International, headed by chief Executive officer Chong Beng Il, who came with an official visit.
The delegation included Vice-President Choi Chong Wu, Director of control of foreign affiliates Jeong Ki SOP and others.
The main goal of the visit to Uzbekistan is to familiarize with the activities of Daewoo Textile Fergana and Daewoo Textile Bukhara and identifying areas for further investment.
After the official welcoming, the members of the Board of Directors held talks with the leadership of the Daewoo Textile Fergana, during which the President of the company presented the presentation on the activities of the enterprise, development indicators and the results of investment projects.
Upon completion of the negotiations, the guests were invited to tour through the Ferghana spinning mill. They were also visited to the Museum of the company and got acquainted with the production process, product and history of the factory.
The delegation visited a weaving mill in Kumtepe, visited the workshops and watched the stages of manufacture of the fabric.
Concluding his visit, Chong Beng Il expressed thanks to the staff for the warm welcome and wished the company innovations, expansion of production, further development and prosperity.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the conduction of the "Uzbek-Korean forum” on the theme: "The Eurasian initiative and the development of cooperation between the two countries" is planned for November 18 in Tashkent.
The organizers of the event are foreign ministries of Korea and Uzbekistan, with the support of the Institute of strategic and interregional studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Research Institute under Inha University.
The forum will be held in the framework of the "Caravan of Korea - Central Asia 2014", organized by the government of the Republic of Korea.
Uzbek leader receives Minister of Public Security of China
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received member of the State Council and Minister of Public Security of the Central People’s Government Guo Shengkun at the presidential residence Oqsaroy on 1 December 2014, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, President Islam Karimov underlined that Uzbekistan highly rates open and trusting nature of the equal and mutually beneficial partnership, established between two nations.
Guo Shengkun underlined that the President of Uzbekistan contributes to gradual development of the Uzbek-Chinese relations. He said that peace, tranquility and calmness in Uzbekistan are giving great results.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on further expanding bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and China.
Minister of Public Security of China expressed gratitude to Islam Karimov for warm receipt and underlined that China is interested in further expanding and developing cooperation with Uzbekistan.
MFA of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation of Indonesian Chamber
On December 22, 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation of the Chamber of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, led by the Deputy Speaker Fadli Zohn.
The meeting discussed topical aspects of bilateral relations based on mutual cooperation and consideration for the interests of each other.
The Indonesian side shared with their impressions of the visit to Uzbekistan, during which members of the parliamentary delegation visited a number of areas as international observers on December 21 elections and praised the organization of the election campaign. It was emphasized that the elections are held on the basis of international principles and with the active participation of voters.
During the exchange of views on the international agenda sides confirmed their interest in the development of cooperation within the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Cooperation Dialogue in Asia and other structures.

Узбекистан и Иран в ближайшие годы планируют довести ежегодный двусторонний товарооборот до $1 млрд. Об этом корреспонденту АН Podrobno.uz сообщил посол Ирана в Узбекистане Али Мардони Фард.
«По итогам прошлого года товарооборот между нашими странами составил всего $250 млн. Этот показатель не удовлетворяет ни одну из сторон, так как потенциальные возможности, имеющиеся в двух странах намного превышают имеющийся уровень. Поэтому мы планируем в ближайшие годы довести его до $1 млрд. Прежде всего, это касается расширения работы в транспортно-коммуникационной сфере и создании нового международного транзитного коридора, который создаст условия для расширения товарооборота», – подчеркнул Али Мардони Фард.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in South Korea with a state visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye.
At the negotiations at high level, it is planned to discuss wide complex of issues of bilateral cooperation, perspectives of developing strategic partnership between two states, problems of regional and international politics.
Within the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan will meet leaders of the Government and Parliament of South Korea, leading South Korean economic and financial structures.
In the result of the visit, the sides will sign a joint declaration of the heads of the states and a package of documents directed at further strengthening mutual beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea.

President of Uzbekistan approves amendments to Agreement on avoidance of double taxation with Pakistan
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan by its resolution approved the Protocol on introducing amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income dated May 22, 1995, signed on 17 November 2015 in Tashkent.
The document entrusted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan to send a notification about the implementation by the Republic of Uzbekistan internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the specified international treaty.
The Cabinet of Ministers and heads of relevant ministries and agencies after the entry into force of the international treaty have been entrusted with ensuring the monitoring of commitments of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the established order.
Delegation of Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan to take part in meeting of "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue
On 25 March, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan will take part in the 11th Meeting of senior officials Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan" in Tokyo.

Uzbekistan and Singapore discuss issues of expanding trade and investment ties
On March 23, the Ministry of foreign economic relations, investments and trade hosted a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore Zulkifli bin Baharuddin.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of further expanding trade-economic, investment and technological cooperation between the two states.
According to the press service of MFERIT, following the results of the meeting, the sides reached an agreement on coordinating measures aimed at active participation of leading Singaporean companies to participate in the implementation of investment projects in the Republic, provided for by the state programs.
Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan receives Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan
On 6 April 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received parliamentary Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Miki Yamada, who arrived in our country for negotiations in the Government, the ministries of foreign affairs, foreign economic relations, investments and trade.
During the meeting at the Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on state and prospects of Uzbek-Japanese relations.
As underlined, held in October 2015 at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. A. Karimov official visit of the Prime Minister of Japan Sh. Abe to Uzbekistan and negotiations at the highest level, has given new momentum to the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, covering the interaction between Uzbekistan and Japan in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, as well as in the Dialogue "Japan + Central Asia".
Ambassador of Japan Fumihiko Kato also attended the negotiations, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.
On May 3, the Ministry of foreign economic relations, investments and trade of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the delegation of the People's Republic of China headed by Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current state and prospects of further development of mutually beneficial trade-economic, investment and financial-technical cooperation between the two countries in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached following the results of bilateral events at the highest level in 2013-2014.
Seoul (Republic of Korea) in cooperation with the Korean Stock Exchange hosted an International business forum "Invest in Uzbekistan".
The work of the business forum was attended by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of strategy and finance of Korea Yoo Il-ho, Chairman of Korean stock exchange Choi Kyung-soo, over 200 executives and representatives of leading Korean companies, as well as the ministries of commerce, industry and energy, KOICA agency etc.
Opening the forum, Deputy Prime Minister of Korea Yoo Il-ho invited leading Korean companies to invest actively in Uzbekistan – one of the fastest growing and sustainable economies in the world. He emphasized that despite the global crisis, over the past 10 years, the Uzbek economy has been growing at a pace of over 8% annually, primarily due to profound structural economic reforms, implementing large-scale long-term programs on development and modernization of industry and infrastructure. These impressive results undoubtedly indicate that the leadership of Uzbekistan selected the only correct way of reform in the unpredictable conditions of constantly changing world. Macro-economic stability, dynamic development, a favorable investment climate, significant human resource and potential form all the necessary conditions for the expansion of Korean business in Uzbekistan.
He stressed that Uzbekistan is a key partner for Korea in the region in the framework of the Eurasia initiative and suggested 4 priority areas for further cooperation:
1) the development of transport-logistics infrastructure, including projects on construction and modernization of airports and transport communications that promote the growth of mutual trade;
2) implementation of energy-efficient and renewable energy technologies, projects on deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and the development of solar energy;
3) the extension of the innovation-the creative and technological cooperation with emerging countries, among which Uzbekistan is a major and reliable partner;
4) the development and strengthening of cooperation in the region based on the principles of mutual benefit and trust.
First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov also delivered his welcome speech at the plenary session of the forum.
Presentations were also made by the Chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition Davron Hidoyatov, who presented to the business community of Korea promising investment opportunities in shares of companies of the Republic and head of the Korean stock exchange, who shared the successful experience of joint work on the modernization of Republican stock exchange "Toshkent" and encouraged Korean companies to actively invest in shares of companies of Uzbekistan.
In addition, representatives of leading Korean companies LOTTE Chemical, Korean Air, and LG CNS, informed the forum participants about the successful experience of their activities and the benefits of doing business in the Republic, favorable investment climate and business environment, as well as plans to expand activities in Uzbekistan.
In turn, the Uzbek delegation at the plenary and sectional meetings of the forum held the presentation of economic and investment potential of the Republic, promising projects and opportunities for participation of Korean companies in the privatization of large enterprises of oil and gas, energy, chemicals, engineering and electrical industries, building materials industry, banking and financial institutions and infrastructure.
In the framework of the business forum there was held a ceremony of signing agreements on the results of the agreements between leading Japanese companies and joint-stock companies of the Republic providing for the sale to Korean investors share in the Charter capital of joint stock companies of Uzbekistan, as well as the implementation of joint projects in various sectors of the economy.
According to the results of the business forum, the sides noted the necessity of holding similar events on a regular basis, taking into account the shown by the business community of the Republic of Korea a great interest in the possibilities of further development of investment cooperation with enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On July 29, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Fumihiko Kato signed exchange notes within the Programme of the government of Japan under the project "Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship”.
Under this program the government of Japan will allocate 459 million yen ($4.3 million), including 263 million yen ($2.46 million) to send trainees to Japan in 2017. In total, since 1999, more than 4.8 billion yen have been allocated towards the implementation of the above project.
The seventeenth in row training in Japan will begin in August this year and it will bring together 15 citizens of Uzbekistan.
Chinese leader: Uzbekistan is major power in Central Asia
Uzbekistan is a major power in Central Asia. China always considers relations with Uzbekistan from a strategic height and perspective, President of China Xi Jinping stated in his article, published by UzA.
Chinese leader said that the Uzbek-Chinese leaders, established 24 years ago, are developing sustainably, withstanding tests of time, rains and storms of international situation. The sides are supporting each other in matters, affecting the vital interests of both parties, and develop fruitful cooperation in all areas, Xi Jinping noted.
He said that he has been supporting close relations with the President Islam Karimov since 2013 in various forms – negotiations and meeting, telephone conversations, letter exchange, etc. Xi Jinping said that the relations and cooperation between two nations are developing and expanding.
Chinese President said that China highly rates that Uzbekistan became one of first countries, which founded the Asian Infrastructure Investments Bank.
In his article, Xi Jinping recalled that the bilateral trade between two states reached US$3.5 billion in 2015, growing 70 times compared to the first year of establishment of diplomatic relations. He noted that China is the largest investor and the second largest trade partner of Uzbekistan. All four lines of China-Central Asia pipeline passes through Uzbekistan, the Chinese leader added.
He recalled that the longest railway tunnel in Central Asia – Angren-Pap – was constructed in Uzbekistan, which will be key transport corridor between China and Central Asia. Uzbekistan and China support construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, he added. He recalled that Chinese side is participating in several large projects in Uzbekistan, including projects on tire plant, PVC plant, etc.
Chinese President also wrote about humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, as well as outlined perspective directions of cooperation. He said that two countries should boost work on formation of Economic Belt of the Silk Road and cooperation in non-raw materials spheres, as well as improve trade-economic infrastructure, create favourable conditions for trade-economic relations between two nations. He said that two states should develop cooperation in high-technological sectors of economy and support realization of mutual beneficial project, as well as encourage investments.
Xi Jinping said that Uzbekistan and China should deepen cooperation in culture, education, tourism, archeology, regional relations, combating three evils, drug trafficking, as well as trans-border organized crime.
He also added that the countries should coordinate their work in international formats such as the UN and SCO. He said that two countries should support their initiative in international arena and exchange opinion on key global issues such as global economic management, energy security, water resources, etc.
