These photos are taken by me last weekend (9.4.2005) when I walked around the city of Vaasa (or Vasa in Swedish) looking for a pair of new shoes. The city is the sunniest in Finland indeed, and like most of the old "garden" towns, looks best in the summer, but this day happened to be a gray Saturday in April.
Finns do not have to comment since I've shown these pics with some extra ones in Talo Forum already.
I have to admit that I only took 1 to 2 photos of each target, alas some of them never made it to my server.
Hotel Astor Wasa near the Railway Station
MediCentra - some sort of medical building
A Woody Corner
Hartmaninkuja alley under construction
Hovrättsesplanaden 12
Lutheran Cathedral
Secondary School
Fiskstrand (Kalaranta) with Administrative Court building
"For the Aviators of Finland"
Factory Grounds
The Court of Appeal
Hovrättsesplanaden (Hovioikeudenpuistikko)
Hovrättsesplanaden, Part II
Town Hall
Administrative Building
The Old Water Tower - works as panorama tower in the summer
Hartmann palace near the Central Market
Walking towards the Railway Station
View from the Railway Station front door
Coming up in June: More sunny photos of the dowtown and the ruins/remained buildings of old Wasa.
