Ferrari World Theme Park in Valencia

Valencia already bidding to host next Ferrari World theme park after Abu Dhabi opening

The first ever Ferrari World theme park may have opened in Abu Dhabi just last week, but other countries are already bidding to host their own racing-themed attraction.

The mayor of Valencia has travelled to Italy to meet with Ferrari chiefs and discuss how the port city - already set to host the Ferrari World Finals this month - could be the ideal European base for another theme park.

Spain was first tipped as one of the frontrunners for a Ferrari World Europe venture a year ago and Valencia is seen as an ideal location as it already hosts a Grand Prix.

The city's officials are said to have recently visited the Abu Dhabi theme park, which boasts the fastest roller coaster in the world and is expected to attract 10,000 tourists a day.

Travelling at 149mph in 4.9 seconds, the ride recreates the G-force felt in a Formula One car and is so fast that riders have to wear safety goggles, just like those a racing driver wears during a Grand Prix.

The Generalitat valenciana last installation of the theme park Ferrari World in Cheste

The Ferrari World theme park is one step away from landing on Valencian land with a private of 945 million euros investment and the creation of 500 jobs direct in full crisis. In addition, it would cost a single penny from the public coffers.

These are negotiations that is keeping the Generalitat Valenciana the Arab investment group Alrasoul Ltd, chaired by entrepreneur Cathib Castro, which would provide 30% of the funding. The rest, paid it 60% of the Credit Suisse Bank and 10% Banco Santander, according to official sources of the Consell have confirmed 20 minutes after the information advanced this noon by Valencia Cadena SER Radio.

So, is there any new development since November 2010 when the article was published? :tongue3:
yes, post #2: yesterday :D

I put the article from 2010 to let the user know that the project is not completely new and as a start point of the thread :)
How big is the Ferrari World Park in Abu Dhabi?
NO, SORRY, BUT IT IS NOT GOING TO BE BUILT. WE HAVE A LOT OF CUTS IN EDUCATION, HEALTY, TRANSPORT... OUR GOVERMENT ARE ALL SON OF A BITCHES, WITH ALL THE WORDS. THEY HAVE SPEND THE VALENCIAN PEOPLE'S MONEY IN THE F1, THE AMERICA'S CUP, AN STUPID AIRPORT AND A MINI HOLLYWOOD. NOW, I HAVE TO PAY THE DOUBLE IN MY MENSUAL SUBWAY CARD, FOR EXAMPLE.
IT CAN'T BE BUILT IN VALENCIA
Luckly, this PRIVATE investment does not depend on u ;)

And please, do not use capital letters, no one is yelling at u. And one more thing, this is not a thread about econony :)
It's not about econony, is about economy, the Valencian economy, one of the worst in all Europe.
And if you are from Valencia you'll know about what I'm speaking: OUR FUCKING GOVERNMENT
Hahahaha Are u gonna correct my english? Man, I do not even live in Spain and probably I could teach u some english and other languages ;) didn't u ever make a mistake typing? :eek:hno:

Anyway, can u explain why are u against a private investment???
F1 was another super plan that the Valencia's president said "it will be free for us" and we are paying every year, the first year we lost money, and next year and now if we don't do the F1 we pay and if we do, we pay also... so I lost my faith in our government and their lies.
Well, is it the same government? Same party, but different people. So we can not judge this president yet. So far I do not have a sign to not trust him.

Once again: this is not a thread about economy and to judge the valencian government
Second Ferrari World theme park planned for Valencia, Spain

The government of Valencia in Spain is reportedly in negotiations to secure financing for a Ferrari World theme park, which could open in 2015.

Rumours that a second Ferrari World, after the original Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, could be on its way to Valencia have been circulating for more than two years. Now, Spanish news outlet Marca reports that the region's government is in talks with investment fund Alrasoul Ltd. to fund the project.

The report claims that construction work could begin as soon as January 2013 if the talks are successful, with a likely opening date in 2015. The park could cost some €945 million to construct, with the Credit Suisse and Santander banks claimed to be considering involvement. The government will provide the land for the park to be situated on, but will not be involved in funding its construction.

Theme parks and Spain just isn't working. Warner Park in Madrid is a complete fail despite the 6 million people living within 1 hour from it, add to that 5 million tourists visiting Madrid every year. Terra Mitica in Benidorm is a complete fail, despite millions of tourists visiting the coastal region north and south of Alicante. Isla Magica in Seville is a complete fail despite a catchment area of atleast 2 million people. Even Port Aventura has been struggling financially since it opened despite its proximity to Barcelona and millions of tourists visiting the coastal region south of Tarragona.

I can say with 190% guarantee that if built this park will fail and end up costing the citizens of Valencia millions. Even if it attracted hundreds of thousands of new tourist it would not make any sense.

Can you explain why? :)
The president of the valencian government (Fabra) says that they will not invest a single euro in the Ferrari Park... all the money for the construction of Ferrari World will come from a private investment group.

Fabra: ´El Consell no pondrá un solo euro en el Parque Ferrari´

Valencia discussing large Ferrari theme park

The municipality of Valencia is discussing the creation of a large theme and recreation park dedicated to Ferrari, similar to the one that was opened in Dubai in November 2010. Valencia is discussing this option with the Alrasoul Ltd investment fund, chaired by Israeli businessman Castro Kathib, sources in the regional government led by Alberto Fabra report.

Fabra's predecessor Francisco Camps and the mayor of Valencia, Rita Barberá, already started talks in July last year with Ferrari president Luca de Montezemolo.

The total investment required to build the park is an estimated 1 billion euros (This is wrong for sure :D). The sources specify that the talks have reached an advanced stage but that no deal has been closed yet.

The regional government of Valencia has laid down the condition that the new Eurodisney' of Formula One will not cost the Generalitat. But in exchange for the investment, the regional government is willing to give the necessary land, around 1.2 million square metres in Cheste, near the Ricardo Tormo circuit, for free. The theme part should include a roller coaster and more than 20 other attractions, race simulators, race driver lessons and commercial areas.
