General Motors Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

This arena, built in 1995, is home to the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. It seats 20,000+. It also has a nice setting, too, along the waterfront, I guess it looks like according to the first picture there.

BTW, it's also the place where U2 have set up for their future concerts and practises and stuff for their upcoming massive world tour!

pity post ... do you often talk to yourself. ;)

i give it a 2/10.

reasons:

1. who cares if its by the water if its an arena
2. what in the world are those luxury boxes doing up there. what are those .. tree houses?
3. the outside looks like an artists rendering on an old macintosh
4. The ceiling looks too high to keep noise in and make it an intimidating place
5. hockey -- outside of olympic hockey -- sucks

Those are where the commentators are and NHL officials are. Do you not see the suites at the midway point which separates the lower and upper sections?

I give you a 2/10.

right, because of course we don't care about a city's natural setting or skyline. We don't give a crap about what anything looks like on this forum, yes?

2. what in the world are those luxury boxes doing up there. what are those .. tree houses?
those are strictly for the media and the NHL officials

3. the outside looks like an artists rendering on an old macintosh
only fair criticism

4. The ceiling looks too high to keep noise in and make it an intimidating place
GM Place is one of the loudest hockey arenas in the NHL

5. hockey -- outside of olympic hockey -- sucks

lol, pretty much every arena in North America has a similar setup to that. As others have said, they are not luxury boxes they are for NHL and team officials, etc.

Ugh.

1.) Who cares? The city does. And why would be on a forum like this if you didn't care about a city's appearance.

2.)Most arena's have those.

3.)At least this is a valid remark. Even though I disagree with it.

4.)Like it was said before, GM Place is an extremly loud building. One of the loudest arena's in the league

5.)
a.)This is a thread about the arena, not the sport played in it.
b.)If you think the Olympics is the only place to find exciting hockey, you need to look harder
c.)Hockey is the best sport there is!

I would agree though that the wide ice game is better. And you don't get the same talent concentration spread out over 30 NHL teams.

I never said I disagreed. But if that's the only exciting hockey he can find, he's not looking hard enough.

Well, it's not like you've ever stood on a pair of skates there in Arizona, is it?
