Victoria Terrasse in Oslo was built as an apartment complex inspired by the luxurious ones you could find in continental Europe. It's 180 meters long building consisting of three main wings and 120 apartments. Built between 1884 and 1890.

Architects: Henrik Thrap-Meyer (Bergen, 1833), Paul Due (Kristiansand, 1835) and Bernhard Steckmest (Germany, 1846).

The building was taken over by SS during second world war two, where they used it's as their HQ here in Norway. The allied tried to bomb the building, but failed and only hit some civillian targets and the rightmost wing of the building. This wing was later rebuildt after the war in a anonymous sixties design. During the years it have also lost some of the ornaments and the spires.

I think it's a great building sadly suffering from lack of maintenance and the boring commie-like building they built on the bombed lot.
