With the "fast" trains now running on three of the four upgraded lines, it's time for some pics.
The V'locity units now run to Ballarat, Geelong and Bendigo. They're limited to 130kph, until the the new timetable comes in later this year, when they'll be cranked up to 160kph.

The Gippsland line shuts down in 2 weeks for four months to allow for final upgrade works.

The Tilt Train is completely useless as a commuter train, and the Vlocity is completely useless as a long-distance train, so there's no comparison really...

(But based purely on appearance, the Vlocity is HOT)

What really shits me is that Country Victoria couldv'e had a really good rail service but the two Boofheads in charge of the project did a great A job of screwing the whole thing up.

If these things hum along like their cousins - the trains they were modelled on: Class 170/171 'Turbostar' - then everything shall be sweet.

It's a very nice, and smooth, ride between Edinburgh and Glasgow on these things.

With the worst train tracks in Australia!!
Wrong! The tracks for these trains have been upgraded to the tune of $700 million thats the reason for the delay.
