150-year-old ancestral house gone in 60 minutes
Vigan City, Ilocos Sur — More than a week after a Spanish ancestral house was razed by an hour-long fire in this heritage city, its owner and caretaker Robert Paul dL. Verzosa is still in shambles, grieving over the loss of his family’s most important heirloom dating back to the mid-1800s.

“Based on the historical accounts of my relatives, the house was built before the birthday of Dr. Jose Rizal on June 19, 1861,” says Verzosa.
