Visiting LA from Australia

Hi all,

I am travelling from Australia to LA this Saturday and will be spending all day Saturday and Sunday there, leaving on Sunday to visit other places.

As I will be by myself, is there anything interesting that you may recommend for me to do as a single, gay 24 year old? I would love to do a hike as the weather will be nice and my home city of Melbourne has been freezing for the past few months.

I am staying in Little Korea Town, and whilst I would like to see the downtown nightlife, should I be particularly cautious, safety wise?

Thanks!

Downtown LA is very safe, day or night. While gay nightlife exists there, unless you're looking to spend time with Latinos and typically I do (El Jalisco bar) you'll most likely enjoy The Abbey in West Hollywood quite a bit more (think Darlington in Sydney). More modern and more diverse people, food and drink. Day or night so recommend starting there. You'll find your way from there without question.

How much would an uber be from Little Korea to West Hollywood, roughly?

Not sure but they aren't very far apart so would be surprised if more than $20. I'd recommend taking the subway from Koreatown to Hollywood and Highland Boulevards and sight see the Hollywood walk of fame and other sites in the area. You're just a stone's throw away from West Hollywood from there. $10 may using Uber but again just a guess. Others here would know best I'm sure.
China Town, Korea Town, Japanese Town, Vietnamese town.
Enjoy diversity of food
This was last year. I'm sure he left already.
Or he stayed cuz he met a Latin Stud at the Jalisco Bar and lives in Boyle Heights Happily!

Glad youre here! Enjoy LA! LOL
