very nice city, i have been to vizag once...
especially i love vizags beach.
its future mega city of india, if suppose andhra pradesh is split into two, vizag may be the capital of andhra state. and it has plenty of scope to become vibrant
Nice pictures of the "village" according to our dear neighbors.
It looks amazing.....and I must admit I am surprised! Beautiful place, an amazing beach, and it looks dense and lively! I know it has some great roads, but it looks like its happening too!
Suncity..............I knew Vizag was scenically beautiful. But that 2nd image you posted just caught me by surprise as well. It just shows how much developed a tertiary metros can be. If Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai are 4 main metros & Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Trivandrum, kanpur etc are secondary metros. rarely a cities like Vizag, Jammu tawi, cochin gets mentioned unless there is a discussion regarding some fishing "village". I must say these tiertiary cities are way way far from typical indian villages.
the second pic looks like any type of foreign country, somewhere in the range of spain, greece or italy.

^ What's that lit up thing in the distance? A tower of some sort, or lightning?

There are many cities all over India which do not get much coverage by the media or even residents.

There is Bhubaneshwar - a pleasant and well planned city. But how often do we find photos of this city except for its temples? There is Jamshedpur, Rourkela, Durgapur, Haldia, Bhillai, Bokaro and numerous small towns and townships which are home to India's middle class. But photographic info about them is either of bad quality or none.

I dont think Trivandrum will come under 2nd category it should in 3rd,cochin is far better than trivandrum.

and not to forget Coimbatore,a planned and clean city, most importantly there is no slums. it is enterpreneurs paradise

I have heard Chandigarh is an amazing city too, by Indian standards.

Yes it is! Not to mention Mohali and Panchkula. :D

They are similar to Noida (same layout), though much cleaner, greener and beautiful, and much less populated.
breathtaking pics and landscape!

nice looking coastal town
Hindustani - you had posted some great pics of Vizag. I believe we lost them during the server upgrade. There have been reports of missing posts.

So please repost them.
Great Pics. I did not know our "villages" look so good. I really must visit more "villages" on my next trip. ;) . I have only visited "varahur" and "Ariyur" for those who know the villages around Trichy in Tamilnadu.

As any of you saw the recent match between India and Pakistan at Vizag might have noticed, the setting of the cricket ground was fabulous with mountains on one side and the Bay of Bengal on the other.
i too posted 2 photos but its missing...
