It's imposible because of the existing double Stadion Narodowy station. All M3 plans are an effect of that station.

Plan is not coordinated with PKP (railway expansion plan) which is damn stupid


PKP Plans:

• Southern circular (Żwirki i Wigury - Wilanowska - Wawer/Gocławek)
• 2nd East-West connection (Wileńska - Główna/Pl. Zawiszy)
• N-S (Gdańska - Airport)

Looking at the map, PKP would make the Line run along the planned M3 Metro line and the central part of M4 N-S line.
The map of the planned Metro does not show SKM (S-Bahn lines).

2nd E-W line will go more or less: Wileński (M2) - Old Town - Ratusz Arsenał (M1) - Daszyńskiego - Główna/Pl. Zawiszy
Great line for in-city transport.
IMHO N-S line should be a metro line, and PKP should not be doing it.

For better or for worse these plans should be coordinated, and adjusted with each other. Transfer stations, and construction schedule should be planned, (looking at a missed opportunity on M2/rail circular (M2 Szwedzka - PKP Targówek - M2 Targówek)

I see none of this at all.

Work on the next western sections of the second metro line is finally starting.

Although the actual ground preparation and fencing off of the alloted land probably won't start properly until after the New Year when everyone returns to work.

This week, Warsaw handed over the land for the construction of Karolin, Chrzanów and Lazurowa stations to the contractor.

Yesterday, the City Council of the Capital City of Warsaw secured PLN 507 million in the 2023 budget for the implementation of this investment.

Karolin, Chrzanów and Lazurowa stations are hoped to be completed by 2024.

As part of Kyiv’s support, the Warsaw Metro may transfer to the Ukrainian company 10 six-car trains of the 81st series, which have already been decommissioned in the Polish capital. The document, signed by the authorities of the Polish and Ukrainian capitals, also includes a declaration of support in the supply of spare parts for rolling stock and assistance in the exchange of knowledge and experience necessary for the modernization of Ukrainian trains. Series 81 trains operated by the Warsaw Metro are structurally very similar to those used in Kyiv.

Now it's official. City authorities have revealed new long term plan for 113 km long metro network with 5 lines and 103 stations. New tram lines are also planned.

These are just studies which have been going on since 2018, nothing concrete (literally).

SKM (Warsaw Rapid Urban Rail) launches two new lines S4 and S40: from Piaseczno to Warsaw and Wieliszew.

On Sunday, March 12 For the first time, the trains of the new Rapid Urban Railway line – S4 will run on the tracks. It will connect Piaseczno, via Warszawa Gdańska, with Wieliszew. A day later, trains of the S40 line will start, which will serve the Piaseczno – Warszawa Główna route on weekdays.

Utilities in the area are currently being rereouted because of the works. Sochaczewska Street (in the vicinity of the future Karolin metro station) has been temporarily narrowed to accommodate this.

Lazurowa, Chrzanów and Karolin stations will not be operational until 2026 at the earliest.
